9.8. Setting-up Joint Fundraising Committees
Setting-up Joint Filing Committees
- Create a new committee record using FEC ID Lookup on the Tools menu which will load the info needed in steps 4-6 below.
- Or create the new committee record manually thru Quick Search or Contacts
- Choose AUTHORIZED COMMITTEE as the Committee Type- manually change the Type assigned if FEC ID lookup was used for record creation
- Enter the Registration ID assigned to them by the FEC
- Choose FEC for Registration Authority
- Enter the address and use address type Other
- Click Save to create the record
When making the connection to the filing committee, we recommend to open up the filing committee record and create the connection from the filing committee to the joint fundraising rep. Meaning, go to the candidate filing committee > click the connections tab and then make the connection from that record.
- Open up the filing committee record for the candidate.
- Select the Connections tab
- Choose Connection Type: Joint Fundraising Rep
- In the Connect With field, search for and select your filing committee record
- Click green Add button
- Now the connection appears on both this committee's connection tab as well as your filing committee record.
