13.4. Financial Search
Financial Search is your go-to for financial lists, financial totals, custom financial reports and exports, plus viewing transactions for any accounting purpose- including compliance report reconciliation.
Financial Search is on the Reports Menu:
Financial Search is a two-page module:
1) Search Filters/Criteria Page
2) Results and Actions Page
Use Financial Search to perform the follow tasks:
Search page
1. Find and View transactions in the database with criteria applied
- Search by: date range, amount, threshold/aggregate date and amount, record, record type, transaction type, filing committees, bank account, election period, category, intermediary, event, reporting code, deposit status.
- More Options: cleared/reconciled, payment method, thanked status, support/oppose entry, Intermediary check total, deposit number, batch number, create/edit date, updated/created by user, check number, and more.
2. Create a Financial Summary with Aggregate Totals for tracking or use for reconciliation purposes including compliance report expected amounts.
- Apply any Search Criteria that should be included in Aggregate Search
- Aggregate By Options:
- Record - see a list of donors with their aggregate amounts, date range, and transaction count
- Record Type - see a summary of individual, organization, or committee totals
- Category - summarize and track totals per category
- Category Type - summarize and track totals per category type
- Reporting Code- summarize and track totals per reporting code
- Election- summarize and track totals by election period
- Transaction Type- summarize and track totals by transaction type
- Compliance Sub-Type- view the compliance report mapping categories
3. Create a custom Financial Report with an array of Display Fields that appear as Data Columns
- Event, Election Period, Check No, Payment Method, Deposit Number, Deposit Label, Batch Number, Batch Label, Cleared, Reconciled Date, Transaction Id, Memo, Reporting Code, Reporting Desc, Category Type, Category, Thanked, Date Thanked, Account Number, Account Name, Fundraiser, Force Itemize, Force UnItemize, Support or Oppose Entity Name, Compliance Sub-Type, Check Status
- Display Fields can also be edited on the Results page
4. Search Actions
- click Fetch Results to load new results of selected criteria
- click Clear Filters to start a new search,
- use View Results to toggle back to the results page,
- Export Results is for offline processing- results come by email rather than loading the results page (recommended for large files that time-out upon loading)

5. Save Financial Search Criteria to later come back to it and open it as a Dynamic report with an array of Data Columns
- Saved Filters are found in the top-right of the Financial Search criteria/main page 1
- on either pages- in the top-right type the Filter Name to describe this saved search criteria
- Display Fields can be selected in the top-right of the Results page if needed
6. Export a static list of the search results to a csv/excel document
- click Download in the bottom-right corner of the results page
7. Mass Update: assign new field selections to a group of transactions
- Transaction date, Itemization status, Reconciled status, Thanked status, Check status, payment Method, Account, Election Period, Category, Batch Event, Reporting Code, Reporting Description, Internal Memo
8. Mass Delete: remove a group of transactions form the database
- use with caution
9. Toggle back and forth between Results and Criteria page
- click Filter Again Button
