Why Is the Name of the Committee Appearing In the Candidate Name Field?

 

A committee's name appearing in the Candidate Name field on Schedule B is due to a quirk of the FEC print engine. Such transactions need to pull the committee ID and name as the beneficiary, therefore the print engine pulls that to the PDF since there is no beneficiary candidate. So even though this field is titled as "Candidate Name" on the PDF, it is intended to display any "Beneficiary" candidate or committee.
