45.1. Filing the GA State Report

GA Ethics requires all filings to use their new filing system, and the legacy e-file is no longer supported.

To Summarize, instead of filing with the legacy e-filing system within Aristotle – we now prepare a downloadable e-file (xml) in Aristotle, which you then upload to the Georgia Ethics Commission. (Generate the compliance report, right click on the e-file, and save to your computer.)

Step 1: Generate Report in Campaign Manager.

Step 2: Review in CM and download the e-file (xml) to your local computer if everything is correct.

Step 3: Login to https://efile.ethics.ga.gov/#/index.  Select “Import Manager” and “Import File”, selecting the downloaded XML from Aristotle.

Step 4: Once the Import has completed and been accepted – they’ll show up under “Unfiled” Reports where you can see a preview and file the report.

What Happened to E-Filing Directly?
Although in the past Aristotle has offered an API submission option for reports, unfortunately this is not possible with the current implementation of APIs in the new GA Ethics e-filing system.

Our team has been in contact with the Ethics Commission and vendor staff throughout this process over the years and will continue to advise them with the goal of being able to electronically submit your compliance reports in the future – efficiently, securely, and error free.  Unfortunately, that is not possible given the current infrastructure of their e-filing system, but we hope by continuing to work with GA Ethics we’ll be able to provide that option in the future.

Make sure your committee is registered with Ethics System!

Please ensure your committee is registered with the GA Ethics E-filing system.  Instructions on that process can be found here.

NOTE: Your Password may be different when you re-registered your committee, than when you’re previously filed GA Reports in Aristotle.
