HomeCampaign ManagerFrequently Asked Questions! Why does the election cycle to date for the PAC include the earmarked contributions on FEC reports?

1.29. Why does the election cycle to date for the PAC include the earmarked contributions on FEC reports?

When reporting contributions from a PAC that also is a Conduit for Individual Contributions, you may notice that the Aggregate Total, or Cycle to Date total, displays the sum of both the PAC's direct contributions and the total of the Earmarked Individual Contributions. Although this may look incorrect, due to the sum displayed being potentially much higher than the amount the PAC itself has contributed, per FEC guidelines this is in fact correct.

Only direct contributions will be used to check Contribution Limits, but the FEC does report the sum of both in its own filing software (FECFile), and our software is built to match that output.
