106.2. How To File a Form 8872

Go through the process of generating a IRS Form 8872 within Campaign Manager. Similar to other compliance report screens, you just select your filing committee, click start blank form, and then enter in the details for the Form 8872.

Once ready, hit generate report and then it should generate a PDF and XML file.

Once the XML is ready, right click on the XML hyperlink and click "Save Link As"

 

Save the file to your computer.

The IRS requires that you file the XML within their system. You can access that here: https://www.irs.gov/charities-non-profits/political-organizations/political-organization-filing-and-disclosure

There is a link for "Log in to political organization filing center"

Go to that link and login with your credentials.

From there, you can login and file the 8872 inside the IRS' system.
