23.4. Redesignating JFC Partner Memos in a New Reporting Period
If you have JFC partner memos that need to be redesignated to a different period on a new report, after the parent transfer/contribution was reported- you can simply create new memo contributions on the donor record. This will adjust the reporting period that the individual donor is being credited for in situations where they are over the limit as originally reported.
1. on the individual record, create a new Memo Contribution
2. enter a negative amount to move FROM the previous period
3. enter the current date to fall within new report period
4. enter the Reporting Description to appear on the report (for example "3/31/25 Team Aristotle Partner Redesignation From")
5. check the box for "Include in Limit Checking" for non-cash impact transaction to be recognized in over-limit report
6. select the previously reported election period, and Save
Repeat the above steps to make a Redesignation TO memo for the new period
- Amount should be positive now
- Date should be the same
- Reporting Description should have "Redesignation To" verbiage
- Include in Limit Checking should be checked again
- Election period should be the NEW period
(Do not link to parent transaction from the previous period or make any edits to that transaction)
(use Reporting Description and Internal Memo to describe that this is related to the parent transaction)
The Individual partner record should look like the example displayed below with the original memos being left as is and the new memo's describing the To/From redesignations.
